Morongo Tribe Renames Golf Course

East Valley Golf Course in Beaumont has been renamed The Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon.

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians recently bought the golf course. According to a news release from the tribe, Tukwet means cougar in the Cahuilla language. The statement says cougars have roamed local mountains and foothills for centuries.
